We will continue accepting enrollment throughout the Summer until each week is full. Scroll down to the weekly themes section to check availability.
In 2024, I took a break from my 9-5 to build Kimber Gardens and hosted a Summer camp for youth ages 12-18. Unfortunately, my new work schedule does not allow the same flexibility to be able offer Summer camp in 2025.
I believe learning how to grow, harvest and preserve your own food is an invaluable skill to have. I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge and providing an outlet for kids to connect with nature and discover their own passion for this wonderfully rewarding avocation. I hope to be able to host camp again in the future.

We live on an active and working homestead and must often be flexible and go with the flow and demand of the season. We cannot always predict what projects will come up or when produce will be ready to harvest. For this reason, weekly activities will be structured loosely with the following themes, projects and lessons. Click on the event details for more information!
Strawberry and Raspberry season should be in full swing! This week we will be making jam, crafting and starting extracts and tinctures to us...

Students will learn how and when to harvest plants for optimal nutrition and flavor, in addition to different preservation techniques such as freezing, canning, dehydrating, freeze drying and more.
We will demonstrate how to safely use and create plant medicine. Students will make things like homemade neosporin, menthol chest rub, elderberry syrup, tinctures, oxymels, and more.
We will provide lessons on identify commonly grown and wild plants and how to use them. We will discuss the plants history, determine if they are edible or have medicinal properties, when to harvest and more!
There are many benefits to raising chickens, but it also comes with challenges. We will evaluate the pro and cons, responsibilities involved, labor and financial requirements, the chicken math conundrum and more.
This will largely depend on individual interest. Students wanting to participate will need a bee suit to watch or engage in hive management.
We want to share this experience with anyone who is truly interested in learning, engaging and participating in all or most of the lessons. This is why we suggest 12 years or older; however, if you have a child younger than 12 that you believe is mature enough for this camp, let’s chat! To provide the best experience, we are only accepting 3-5 participants a week and will try to keep similar age groups together.
We are hosting 8 weeks of Summer Camps between July 1st through August 28th except for one week from August 5th-9th for a planned vacation.
Camp will run from 8:30-3:30 Monday-Wednesday with the option for early drop off and late pickup. There is no additional cost; however, there may not always be adult supervision during extended hours.
There is a $40 non-refundable registration fee to enroll, not included in the following tuition rates. Rates include camp hours, extended hours, snacks and supplies. Discounts available for enrolling in multiple weeks (they don’t have to be consecutive) or save even more and enroll for the entire Summer!

We live on an active and working little homestead and must often be flexible and go with the flow and demand of the season. We cannot always predict what projects will come up or when produce will be ready to harvest. For this reason, weekly activities will be structured with a loose theme, projects & lessons.
One of the many benefits of our camp is participants get to bring home the products of their hard work, such as seeds, plants, fresh produce, dried herbs, medicinal products, canned goods, honey, extracts, freeze dried goodies, eggs, chicks (if allowed) and more.
Lexi interned with a professional baker and learned how to make sugar cookies. She will be demonstrating this as one of our baking projects and participants will get to make, decorate and bring home their own delicious cookies.
Students will need to bring a lunch (hot or cold). We will provide snacks and there will be lots of garden grazing opportunities as the season progresses.
We will be outside a lot. Please bring sunscreen or your preferred sun protection gear and wear weather appropriate attire that can get dirty. Having an extra change of clothes is never a bad idea and it would be helpful to have an extra pair of "working" shoes that can remain here during the week.
We are located about 10 minutes off I-5 from both Exit 99 and Exit 95. It takes approximately 15 minutes to get to the Westside, Tumwater and Rochester. If daily transportation to our home is an issue, we may be able to help by arranging a carpool or meeting somewhere closer to town.
